The exciting discovery of an extensive Roman complex on the southern slope of Castiglione del Lago (see the latest posts in “Research”) drew substantial media attention. On 6 July 2023, we held a press conference at the Palazzo della Corgna that was well attended by the public and press. Since then several reports about the project have been published and broadcast in Italy. Here is a selection:

The Trasimeno Regional Archaeological Project was recently featured on RAI 3 – Umbria. This short story introduces our new excavation on the slopes of Castiglione del Lago and collaboration between The Comune of Castiglione del Lago, The Umbra Institute, DePauw University, Associazione Acqua, and the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio dell’Umbria.
